Sunil lays foundation stone of Dangdoru-Hanzal-Dachhan Road

Kishtwar, Aug 13: Minister of State for Transport (Independent charge) R&B, Revenue,  RDD and Panchayti Raj, Sunil Sharma today laid the foundation stone of Dangdoru-Hanzal-Dachhan Road meeting a long pending demand of the people of this far-flung area.
Addressing locals after laying the foundation stone, the Minister said that it is a historical day for the people as despite seventy years of independence the area has been deprived of road connectivity.
He said the road will be completed in two phases, adding 18 km stretch from “Dangdoru to Sirchi” would be in the first phase at an estimated cost of Rs 37.35 crore. He said the executing agency JKPCC has assured to complete the road in a time span of two years.
“It took a long time to complete the process for implementation of the project which includes wild life, forest and other clearances. But I kept on pursuing the cause and today the dream has been turned into the reality”, the Minister said.
He said  that development is a continuous process and it needs patience as well as proper planning.
“In addition to the road connectivity, communication facility for the area is a matter of days now as the tender for the installation of BSNL tower in the area has been allotted”, he informed the enthusiastic public.
On the occasion, MLC Firdous Ahmed Tak Also praised the efforts of the Minister for keeping his word and pursuing the case both at state and  central levels as the road has been funded under CRF (Central Reserve Funds).
DDC Kishtwar G N Balwan, SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir, DGM JKPCC Pardeep Kumar and other district and sectorial officers were also present on the occasion.
