Ex- Servicemen, people oppose controversial statement about Referendum in Kashimir

MANDI, Aug 14: A controversial statement by Prashant Bhushan in favour of referendum in Kashmir and favouring terrorists and ISI activities threatening the unity and integrity of the country has sparked widespread resentment and indignation against him in Mandi, Kangra and Bilaspur districts of Himachal pradesh from where thousands of soldiers are serving the Indian army and hundreds of them have laid down their lives for defending the motherland in three wars against Pakistan.
In these districts every house has one or two persons in the Armed Forces. Ex-servicemen unions of the three districts have urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take very seriously his anti-national and savage outbursts. Col Inder Singh (retired) and MLA from Sarkaghat alleged that his connection with Pakistani terrorists and ISI could not be ruled out and demanded thorough investigation and stringent action, if found guilty.
Similar action was necessary against his ‘soul-mates’ in media and political parties dancing to the tunes of the foreign powers of country where there is neither freedom nor democracy. Mandi Press Parishand  has also demanded immediate amendment of the law of sedition to reign in such people.
Mandi Bar Association has also taken a serious note of the anti-national statement of Prashant Bhushan and added that such people operating under the pretext of freedom of speech should be shown no mercy whether they are in media or politic.
There is strong suspicion that these elements might be financed by Pakistan. The association has also urged the Union Finance Minister that the assets of these people should also be scrutinized by various agencies of the Ministry of Finance.
Senior Advocate Vishwanath Sharma  said eye-brows were being raised over the purchase of tea gardens by Prashant Bhushan in district Kangra of Himachal Pradesh and permission sought under section 118 of the Himachal Pradesh Land Revenue Act. Mr Sharma alleged that Mr Bhushan has reportedly purchased land worth crores of rupees elsewhere in the country. (UNI)
