JAMMU, Aug 14: Two persons including an Army Jawan died today after they received electric shocks in separate incidents in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, Sepoy Sunil Kumar of 21 JAT Regiment based at Lalle-da-Bagh late last night came in contact with a live wire while on duty in his regiment and fell unconscious. “He was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H), Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors”, he said adding the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary of Military Hospital, Satwari.
At Kaluchak, a Government employee identified as Darshan Kumar (37) son of Prabhu Dayal, resident of Kaluchak, also received severe electric shock while repairing a power inverter at his residence. He was also rushed to GMC&H Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for postmortem.
In both cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance.
