JAMMU, Aug 14: Terming the declaration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to involve all the stake holders from all the four regions of the Jammu and Kashmir including PoK, Gilgit- Baluchistan in the dialogue over Jammu and Kashmir and consensus of All Party meet held in Delhi as step in right direction, former Minister and senior Congress leader Sham Lal Sharma today said that Prime Minister needs to translate his words into reality.
Addressing BCC meeting in Akhnoor today, Mr Sharma said that his continued seven years struggle at last has reaped some fruits. It is fortunate that for the first time all party meet has reached to a consensus and felt the need to address political concerns of Jammu and Ladakh regions as well as PoJK as fourth region of J&K State.
While appreciating all party decision, Mr Sham complemented people of Jammu that whenever Central Govt will talk on J&K, they will talk about Jammu, too. He said that Jammu region will also be one of the agenda points and stake holder in any future political initiatives to resolve the issues of their interest.
Expressing his apprehensions, he urged upon PM Modi to translate it into reality, and not to restrict to another “Jumla”.
He lambasted State BJP who act as camp office of PDP, despite, having given popular mandate to fight for Jammu cause, but betrayed their trust which caused uncertainty in the region. Mr Sharma stated that when popular aspirations for Jammu empowerment gains momentum BJP is found no where to assert this region’s stake.
Congress leader appealed to the civil society and social organisations here to draw inspirations from another neglected region of Ladakh, where their All Religious Joint Action Committee sent clear message to the Central Govt and Kashmiris can never be their leaders and will struggle for themselves.
Mr Sharma highlighted the new political developments emerged from all party meet and expressed hope of the beginning of process to focus on Jammu empowerment, which certainly needs broad consensus among this region’s diversified culture, sub regions to formulate road map for optimum achievement.
