Ex-GMC Principal sent to jail

SRINAGAR, Sept 26: Former Principal Government Medical College, Srinagar, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah was remanded to Central Jail till October 4 by Special Judge Anti Corruption.
Crime Branch today produced a charge sheet against former Principal vide its FIR No. 21/2009 registered under Section 420, 468, 471 RPC read read with Section 5(2) Prevention of Corruption Act before the Court of Special Judge Anti Corruption, Srinagar.
Taking cognizance of the case, Court remanded the accused to Central Jail, Srinagar till October, 4 2012.
The accused Principal had fabricated a letter under the forged signatures of Director Central Vigilance Commission to give a benefit to his wife Dr Safoora Bilques over and above Dr Mohammad Ashraf who happened to be the HoD of Social and Preventive Medicine Department, Government Medical College Srinagar at the relevant point of time.
