JAMMU, Aug 17: The Nirvan Divas of Pt. Krishan Joo Bhat Taploo a great saint of ancient Kashmir and an astrologer was celebrated here with full religious fervor and gaiety.
In this connection a function was held Swami Ji’s Top Sherkhaniya Ashrma in which a large number of devotees participated and paid obeisance to the Saint. Speaking on the occasion Mrs Mohni Bhat Taploo highlighted the significance of a devotional story known as Brahesh Katha. She said Pt Krishan Joo Taploo was ascetic who used to visit Mata Khir Bhawani with his associates off and on and chanted gyms in praise of the Goddess of Tulmulla. During those days there was no shrine and only drops of water oozed out from a mulberry tree in the compound. Pt Ji got an inspiration from the Goddess and gave the water, shape of spring.
She further said he also saw a snake that appeared at the spot where from water oozed out. This was miracle of the spiritual powers and Goddess Ragyja became pleased and appeared at the place, so the place was regarded as the holiest of the holy places of Kashmir. It is also said that one of the devotees of Pt. Jee was Wag Pandit Taploo.
Bhajan Kirtan were recited by Kiran Jee and Rajinder Bhat and other renowned singers of K P community and function culminated with serving of Prashad to devotees.
