AMCCC delegation calls on Special Secretary Revenue

JAMMU, Aug 21: All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) delegation led by its president Desh Rattan held a meeting with Special Secretary Revenue Relief and Rehabilitation and discussed the various problems of displaced Pandits with him.
The delegation demanded release of cash payment of the balance ration of last thee months, release of balance ex gratia of damaged houses and other property,  simplifying the bifurcation process of ration cards, release of list of candidates selected under PM package, and taking up in hand a new water supply scheme for Jagti township to avert the present water crisis.
The delegation while highlighting the other demands said that present water supply scheme has failed to cater to the needs of the camp inmates as it remains mostly defunct. It demanded the tendering of works for welfare of camp inmates at Jagti township, Purkhoo, Nagrota and Muthi and Buta Nagar so that the funds meant for the welfare of the migrants can be properly utilized.
It also demanded that the development works be taken up in hand for the welfare of migrants and small and pity contractors among the displaced people be allotted the works.
It said the renovation of Jagti quarters, damaged parks , drainage system, roads etc need immediate attention. The Special Secretary assured the delegation that the mater will be taken up higher ups in the Government.
R L Sharma, Manmohan Kanth, B L Koul, Bittu Ji, C L Raina, M L Bhat and P N Jalali were the other members of delegation.
