JAMMU, Aug 22: BJP MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, along with State vice-president & Yatra incharge, Yudhvir Sethi, MLA Sukhnandan Choudhary and number of senior leaders, led the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in Ganjansoo Jammu today.
The rally started from Ganjansoo Marh and concluded at Bohri.
Jugal Kishore Shrama, while addressing the party activists and public during the rally, said that it becomes our duty to reach the people and remind them about the supreme sacrifices of the patriots, who left the luxuries of life and jumped into freedom movement.
During the “Azaadi 703, celebrations on 70th Independence Day scooter, motor cycles rallies were taken out by MPs across their respective Parliamentary constituencies with a motive of making people aware about the various aspects of freedom struggle and the role of thousands of patriots in getting their motherland freed.
He further said that it becomes our prime duty to defeat anti-national forces and strengthen the nationalist forces so that the freedom and democracy become more strong”.
MLA Sukhnandan Chowdhary said that the present situation in the State needs unity among the nationalist forces so that those posing threat to the unity and integrity of the country are not in a position to raise their heads
He further said that although the people of his generation were not part of the struggle for freedom which bore fruits in 1947 but getting associated with the Yatra in honour of the Tricolour and the great martyrs is itself a matter of satisfaction.
Yudhvir Sethi who was the overall incharge thanked people and party workers and said that the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ has got overwhelming response in entire constituency and we feel happy that the objective of making public aware about the struggle for independence is being conveyed in a right way.
Rural district president Omi Khajuria and Vikas Chowdhary, general. secretary Yuva Morcha also accompanied the MP during the yatra.
