SRINAGAR, Sept 27: Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand along with senior officers of Srinagar Development Authority (SDA), ULB and Housing Board visited Sangarmaal city Centre where Sangarmaal Developmental Exhibition is in progress.
Appreciating efforts of SDA in reviving defunct and non-operational Sangarmaal as one of the significant focal economical point of all activities, Mr. Tara Chand said “It is the need of the hour to give more attention to create such vibrant infrastructure which can boost economical and trade activities in the city besides helping in convergence of people at one city centre.”
At the exhibition, the officers apprised him about various achievement made in housing sector which is being visited by thousands of people daily. He also went through a visual presentation of achievements made in housing sector. In the stall established by Housing Board free consultation is being provided to the people for construction of low cost houses and utilization of minimum land.
At LAWDA stall phase wise steps taken in bringing back original glory of the Dal lake were also shown to the Deputy Chief Minister.
Rural Development Department, Women’s Development Corporation, Khadi and Village Industries Board, JKHPMC and Agro-Industry Development Corporation have also set up their stalls where manufacturers and artisans sell their products directly to the costumers. R&B Department, Cooperative Bank, HDFC Bank, J&K Bank have also setup their stalls in the exhibition.
At Sangarmaal auditorium top specialist doctors have provided free consultation which has been largely appreciated by the people.
The elevators installed in Sangarmaal were also utilized for providing training to intending Hajj Pilgrims who usually face difficulty in using elevators during Hajj.
Deputy Chief Minister also interacted with artisans, officers and the people present there.
Vice Chairman SDA, Khawaja Farooq Renzushah, Vice Chairman LAWDA Irfan Yasin, Director Urban Local Bodies, Laherwal and Managing Director Housing Board, Kiran Wattal accompanied the Deputy Chief Minister.
