MENDHAR, Aug 25: The PDP workers today held protest and block Mendhar -Jammu road for several hours here this afternoon.
The trouble started when local PDP leader and former Sarpanch Waqar Ahmed Khan alias Kuka from Harni area had some altercation with SHO, Anzir Mir over the issue of wrong parking of his vehicle near Bus Stand in Mendhar. The police later took the vehicle to Police Station and seized the same. The Ex-Sarpanch was taking lunch at the nearby Dhaba and he told the cops to wait till he finishes his food.
After the cops removed his vehicle to Police Station, a large number of PDP workers assisted by Waqar blocked road and started protest against police. A long traffic jam was created with it. Later, with the intervention of SDPO and Tehsildar the matter was resolved and the vehicle released. The traffic was then restored after several hours.
