Conference on ‘Recent Trends and Technologies in Data Science’ begins

JAMMU, Aug 26: Two-day National Conference on “Recent Trends  and Technologies in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence”, by the Department of Computer Science & IT, Bhaderwah Campus,  began today in the Institute of Mountain Environment building, Bhaderwah Campus.
The Conference was inaugurated by the JU Vice-Chancellor Prof. R. D. Sharma in the presence of   Prof G M Bhat, Rector of the Bhaderwah Campus, Prof. Vinod Sharma, Convener of the conference, Prof. Lalitsen Sharma, Co-convener, Prof. Pawanesh Abrol, Chairperson, and Jasbir Singh co-Organizing Secretary.
In his inaugural address, Prof. R. D. Sharma said that such seminars are very beneficial for the students as these provide them insight to the recent trends and developments taking place in the field. He called upon the students and researchers for getting benefitted by such conferences and workshops as there is a huge demand in this field.
The keynote speakers at the inaugural session were Prof M.N. Hoda, the former president. Computer Society of India and currently the Director of the Bharatiya Vidyapeeth Insitute of Computer Applications and Management and  Nilanjan Dey of Techno India College of Technology, Kolkata.
Prof G.M Bhat gave an overview of the conference while Prof. Vinod Sharma focused on the theme of the conference.
Prof. Hoda and Dr Dey, in their keynote speeches, highlighted the existing status, challenges and implications of Data Science in the world and for the Indian professionals in particular.
Saurabh Shastri   conducted proceedings of the inaugural session while Jatinder Manhas, presented vote of thanks.
The conference was divided into three technical sessions wherein more than thirty papers were presented by scholars coming from various parts of the country. Each paper presentation session was followed by discussions on the issues raised by the scholars in their presentations.
