Galdan Tripa Rinpochey consecrates Kunrik Lhakhang at Saboo Gonpa

LEH, Aug 26: In an impressive function held today at Tashi Gayphel Gonpa Saboo, Galdan Tripa Rizong Sras Rinpochey Thupstan Nyma Lungtok Stanzin Norbu Palzangpo and in presence of Bakula Rinpochey, Stanzin Nawang, Jigmet Wangchuk and Tashi Lunpo Khey Rinpochey Kachen Lobzang Tsetan, consecrated the Kunrik Lhakhang and Statue
During the consecration ceremony, Chokji Lama Lobzang Tsering, CEC Dr Sonam Dawa Lonpo, MLA Nawang Rigzin Jora, Executive Councillors Dorjay Motup and Tsering Wangdus, Area Councillor Punchok Dorjay, Upper Leh Councillor Lobzang Nyantak, SSP Tsering Gyalpo, scholars, District Officer and many invited guest were present to grace the occasion.
Presenting the welcome speech, Gen Thupstan Paldan mentioned about the 300 years old Saboo monastery’s historical importance having connection with kings reign.
Appreciating the generosity of volunteer donors contributing for the Lhakhang project Sarpanch Rinchen Tundup informed that Kunrik Lhakhang project started in 2010 has number of donors contributing Rs 60 lack, including from political leaders.
Geshes Konchok Wangdus, mentioning about the benefit of Kunrik Lhakhang not only to the Saboo villagers but also to visitor as well as entire Ladakh region, said that this “Nangbar Nangzat” has been built as per the aspiration and advice of Bakula Rinpochey.
On the occasion volunteers and workers were felicitated with Khataks and gifts by the chief guest. Tashi Gyaphel Culture and Welfare Society Manager (Lhobon) Tashi Gyaphel Gonpa Sabu, Monastery former Manager (Lhobon) Rinchen, Geshes Konchok Wangdus, Gen Thupstan Paldan, Saboo Sarpanch Rinchen Tundup were among recipients of appreciation recognition for their contribution.
