JAMMU, Aug 28: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed to all members of both houses of Parliament representing Jammu and Kashmir State to take up the long pending matter regarding regularization of sixty one thousands daily rated workers, working in various Departments of the State Government since long and implementation of the 7th Pay Commission with Prime Minister by granting special package of rupees nine thousand crores out of annual plan, so that these burning issues are solved once for all to provide breathing relief to salaried as well as working classes.
Addressing a well attended NMC workers meet here, Shastri said that despite financial constrains, the States of Haryana, Himachal Pardesh and Delhi have already addressed the grievance of salaried class and implemented the recommendations of 7th Pay Commission simultaneously with Centre.
While appreciating the good governance of present regime, headed by Mehbooba Mufti, Shastri expected and anticipated that similar decision at the earliest would be taken regarding implementation of 7th Pay Commission for State Government employees and pensioners and comprehensive policy along with regularization of sixty one thousand daily wager workers by the Chief Minister.
For providing regular monthly wages to daily rated workers, Shastri suggested creation of a separate wage head to financial grants till the regularization process is completed.
Other demands, highlighted on the occasion, included immediate release of all pending dues of all daily wagers, amending SRO 64, issuance of regularization orders of 180 daily wagers working in the Rural Development Department, enhancing medical allowance to Rs one thousand per month and increasing monthly salary of daily wagers to Rs 10000/- per month.
