JKGB organizes awareness program on social security schemes

JAMMU, Aug 29: J&K Grameen Bank in collaboration with NABARD organized an awareness programme on Pradhan Mantri’s social security schemes in village Galbadde under the branch office Gajansoo.
RS Billawaria, Area Manager, Jammu, who was the chief guest on the occasion emphasized on Education and Housing loans.
Speaking on the occasion, Vipan Gupta, Manager, MF&FI Department, JKGB, informed the participants at length regarding the benefits of social security schemes named (PMJJBY) Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, (PMSBY) Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and (APY) Atal Pension Yojana.
He further informed the gathering that these schemes have been designed to provide security cover to the poor population particularly those working in the unorganized sectors. He advised the people to avail this benefit through nearest Grameen Bank Branch.
He also made people aware of new Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme) in which the premium rates to be paid by the farmers have been brought down substantially so as to enable more farmers avail insurance cover against crop loss on account of natural calamities.
Representatives of various Line departments also attended the programme. Besides huge gathering, Panchs and Sarpanchs of the area also attended the camp. Branch Head, Gajansoo, Ravi Verma presented vote of thanks.
A similar programme was also conducted at village Gho Manhasa.
