KATHUA, Aug 30: Hemant Gupta, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax Range-I, Jammu today interacted with public on Income Declaration Scheme.
The public meeting was attended by the Brick Kiln Owners and Stone Crusher Owners of Kathua district.
Speaking on the occasion, Hemant Gupta said that under this scheme anyone can declare unaccounted assets/income or benami properties and get the benefits. “This is one time opportunity to all the persons who have not declared income correctly in earlier years to come forward and declare such undisclosed income”, he said, adding “valuation of the assets will be calculated as on 1-6-2016 on fair market value as assessed by the approved valuers of the department”.
He also apprised the participants about consequences of not declaring the unaccounted income/cash/assets under this scheme.
