Vigilance registers another FIR against ex-PRO for forged entries in service book

JAMMU, Aug 31: The  Vigilance Organization Jammu has registered second FIR against Kewal Krishan Sharma, ex-PRO of then Deputy Chief Minister, for managing forged entries in his service book.
During the investigation of case FIR No. 32/2015 at P/S VOJ, registered against Kewal Krishan Sharma, who is a Forest Guard, house searches were conducted at the residential premises of accused.  In the course of the house search at Patta Paloura Jammu, original service book and marks card of Secondary School Examination under Roll No  12172 Session April-May 1988 were recovered and seized alongwith other incriminating documents.
The scrutiny of the original service book revealed that the qualification and date of birth of the accused Kewal Krishan Sharma has been endorsed and certified on the basis of diploma under Roll No  12172.  The documents/certificate was sent for verification to the J&K State Board of School Education Authorities and as per the reply submitted by Joint Secretary, Verification Jammu, the marks certificate of Secondary School Examination (10th Class) April-May 1988 under Roll No  12172 has not been found in accordance with the Board records. The detailed particulars of the candidate pertaining to Secondary School Examination (10th Class) April-May 1988 under Roll No  12172 are of Sanjeev Kumar Sharma son of  Tara Chand Sharma,  Date of Birth 22/06/1973, Grade Ist Marks 482. As such  the said certificate, the entries of which have been shown certified in the service book of accused Kewal Krishan Sharma, have  been found to be fake and fabricated.
The accused in connivance with other public servants,  Pritam Singh, the then Project Officer Bilani Project Jammu and Custodian of the Service Book,   facilitated the fake entries. The original service book was handed over to Kewal  but the same was shown  dispatched to the Dy Secretary  General Administration Department   vide No. 123/BP dated 20/10/2010. The original service book remained in the custody of Kewal Krishan Sharma in order to avoid the detection of these fake entries.
As such case FIR No  20/2016 P/S VOJ has been registered in Vigilance Organization, Jammu, under section   5(1) (d) read with 5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act Svt 2006 Section 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B RPC on the prima facie establishment of offences on the part of the aforementioned accused public servants and beneficiary Kewal Krishan Sharma and others.
