KHMF, ACT protest against increasing cattle menace at Jagti

JAMMU, Sept 2: Kashmiri Hindu Migrant Front (KHMF) and Aasra Chartable Trust (ACT) today protested against the failure of the authorities to check the increasing cattle menace at Jagti.
The protest was held under the leadership of R K Sehgal. He while expressing his resentment over the failure of  authorities to maintain a check on the same said two people lost their lives so far while one lady got injured due to increasing cattle menace in the township.
Sehgal warned that Jagti inmates will launch agitation in case the authorities fail to pay attention in solving their problems which are compounding day by day. He said children, old and infirm people can’t move freely in the so called township due to the increasing cattle menace.
He said a young person lost his life after his motor cycle was hit by a stray bull in the camp on August 26. The ill fated youth Kapil Nath Bhat fell down on the road in a pool of blood and later succumbed to his injuries.
He said prior it one youth was also killed by a stray bull in the camp while an old lady was injured after a stray cattle hit her.
Sehgal demanded that the authorities should immediately act,  fence the entire Jagti township and install gates on both exit and entry points of the township by placing a proper watch and ward staff there. Besides, the street lights be also installed on the main road and lanes in the town. He also demanded redressal of other problems of inmates of Jagti failing which the people will launch a decisive agitation.
Later the gathering paid floral tributes to Kapil Bhat and demanded that the family be paid compensation.
Those who addressed the gathering included Prof S S Bali, M K Yogi, president NC Minority Cell, Vijay Cheken  and Tej Krishan.
