NEW DELHI, Sept 3: Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations rose by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market today following pick up in cargo movements amid tight availability of trucks.
Transporters said increased cargo movements against the tight position of trucks, pushed up freight rates for some destinations.
Capital to Patna, Surat, Mumbai and Pune freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 29,000, Rs 28,000, Rs 32,000 and Rs 33,000.
Rates to Kanpur, Indore and Ahmedabad also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 23,000, Rs 24,000 and Rs 26,000.
