10 day long celebration of Ganesh Mahautsav underway at Lower Muthi

JAMMU, Sept 10: The ten day long celebration of Ganesh Mahautsav at Sidi Vinayak temple at Lower Muthi is underway near here.
The function has been organised by Mahaganesh Ji Charitable Foundation led by J N Handoo chairman and Prof O N Kaul its secretary.
The functions started on Vinayak Chouram i. e September 5 with Bhajan Sandhya by B L Bhat Sharnagat and it will continue upto Ganesh Chaturdashi falling on September 15.
The devotees from different parts of the Jammu city are daily thronging the holy temple which is the replica of Shree Ganesh temple of Hanand Chawalgam in South Kashmir district of Kulgam and pay their obeisance to Lord Ganesh, participate in Pooja Archana and seek blessings.
The function started with Samohik Aarti and lighting of 1111 Deepaks by the devotees for removing obstacles and ignorance besides to invoke the blessings of Lord.
The grand temple of Lord Ganesh which has been constructed on the pattern of South Indian architecture after the mass exodus of Pandits from Valley is one of the unique temples of Lord Ganesh in Jammu and the Trust has also constructed two storied grand community hall with it.
Besides, the usual Bhajan Kirtan the Trust is holding the meeting of Biradri members of Hanand Chawalgam tomorrow which will be followed by bhandara community feast.
During the Ganesh festival celebrations the scholars are also giving religious discourses highlighting the significance of festival daily.
