JAMMU, Sept 10: Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Tourism, Culture, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks Priya Sethi today paid surprise visit to Industrial Training Institute, R.S. Pura.
The Minister ordered suspension of Superintendent of the ITI, Vivek Sagar, who was found absent without proper authorization. She also expressed serious concern over dilapidated condition of the institute.
Reaffirming her commitment to carry forward the campaign of Skill India launched by the Prime Minister, the Minister exhorted upon the ITIs to work hard as their role has greater significance in this regard. She cautioned the officers that no laxity would be tolerated in this regard.
The Minister, while inspecting the institute complex, expressed displeasure over the poor upkeep of the complex and directed the authorities to immediately launch a special Swachhta Abhiyan for ensuring proper cleanliness and healthy environment in the institute.
She directed the teaching fraternity to ensure that students are properly engaged in their classes and a system is also maintained for physical well being of the pupil. She also inspected attendance registers of the wards and directed for regular updating and maintenance of the record.
