JAMMU, Sept 12: Various political parties and leaders have condemned the terrorist attack at Poonch city and warned the Pakistan to stop aiding terrorists.
RSS Prant Pracharak, Ramesh Pappa has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Poonch yesterday in which Head Constable Rajinder Prasad attained martyrdom.
Pappa also visited the residence of Mr Prasad today and conveyed his heart felt condolences to the bereaved family. He said entire nation feels proud of this brave soldier. He also paid homage to the cop and expressed his deepest sympathy with the bereaved family.
The RSS leader urged the government to intensify vigil as terrorists and Pakistan are hell bent to create disturbances in the State. He also appealed people to maintain peace and amity so that the nefarious designs of terrorists are frustrated.
Pappa assured all support to the family. He was accompanied by Sangh Chalak and other leaders of the area.
Strongly condemning the militants attack at Poonch in which one Policeman sacrificed his life and two others injured, the PCC has expressed grave concern over the incident near the Army installations in the heart of Poonch city.
In a statement PCC chief spokesman, Ravinder Sharma paid rich tributes to the martyr Policeman and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family. He also lauded the role of security forces for eliminating terrorists while safely rescuing the couple inside the building namely, Nazir Hussain Mir and his wife belonging to a well known Congress family. He appreciated the role of local population in extending full co-operation to Army in this regard, as a result the forces could thwart designs of enemy.
Sharma expressed serious concern over the increase of militants presence in border area indicating the designs of Pakistan and ISI and cautioned the people of this border belt, to remain vigilant in order to defeat the designs of inimical forces.
Deputy Chairman J&K Legislative Council, Jahangir Hussain Mir and MLA Surankote, Akram Chowdhary visited the bereaved family of Policeman who was martyred in yesterday’s militant attack and paid their heartfelt condolences for the departed soul. They also visited on Haji Nazir Hussain and enquired about his health who was made hostage by the militants in Poonch yesterday. They said that officers and jawans of 93 Brigade and Police has played a commendable role in saving senior citizen civilian couple who was hostaged in their house by militants in Allapir Mohalla of Poonch.
They appreciated the efforts of Army and Police in saving the life and property of all the civilians of adjoining areas during this operation. Mir said that the 93 Inf Brigade has always played a major and responsible role for saving the civilians of Poonch since 1947 and this time under the guidance of Commander, Brig AS Pendharkar they did it very nicely.
Senior BJP leader and MLC Vibodh Gupta during public meeting at Doongi also strongly condemned militant attack in Poonch and said that this is sheer frustration of the enemy who never want the State of Jammu & Kashmir to prosper. He said such incidents will never demoralize the peace loving people of Rajouri and Poonch but instead will further strengthen our resolve to defeat these enemies of peace at all fronts.
Gupta appreciated the joint effort of Army, CRPF and J&K Police for their timely and swift action which ensured on the spot killing of three militants. Coming down heavily on these enemies of peace, Gupta said that when people in the State are making preparations for the Eid celebrations, the militant attacked Poonch city and tried to disturb the peace here. .He called upon people not to be discouraged by such incidents but ensure that peace and harmony is maintained at all costs.
