JAMMU, Sept 12: A deaf and dumb minor boy was killed while seven persons were injured in separate road mishaps in outskirts of this winter capital of the State.
According to a police spokesman, a deaf and dumb boy identified as Danish Dalia (5) son of Manohar Lal, a resident of Ward No 6, Jourian, was today hit by an unknown Army vehicle, when he suddenly came on road running out from a lane after releasing his hand from his mother, who was accompanying him.
The spokesman said that the profusely bleeding boy was rushed to Government Hospital, Jourian, where doctors declared him as brought dead. “After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased boy was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites”, he said, adding, the concerned police have registered a case and started investigation.
At Greater Kailash, a youth identified as Sunil Kumar (25) son of Buta Ram, resident of Greater Kailash was injured in the collision of a Tata Mobile and an unknown vehicle.
An elderly man identified as Gurcharan Singh (80) son of Nehal Singh, resident of Ajeet Nagar (Gadigarh) sustained injuries when the cycle on which he was travelling was hit by an auto near St Peter School, in Gadigarh area.
A scooty-borne boy identified as Javed Iqbal (16) son of Mohd Iqbal, resident of Bantalab was hit and injured by an auto at Bantalab.
A young girl identified as Arti (21) daughter of Viraj Singh, a resident of Chowadi (Sanik Colony) suffered injuries when the scooty on which she was travelling, got slipped at Qasim Nagar.
At Rotary Chowk in Parade area, a pedestrian identified as Anoop Kumar Sharma son of Gian Chand Sharma, resident of Rajpura, was hit and injured by an unknown vehicle. Similarly, another pedestrian identified as Madan Lal Gupta (80) son of Bhagwan Dass Gupta, resident of Talab Tillo, was hit and injured by a car at Talab Tillo.
A motorcyclist identified as Shubham Sharma (25) son of Paul Sharma, resident of Greater Kailash, was injured when his bike was hit by a car at Gandhi Nagar.
All the injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment. In all cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance.
