National training programme for Biotechnologists concludes

JAMMU, Sept 10: A 10-day national training programme on Plant Tissue Culture Techniques in Quality Planting Material Production and Crop Improvement for scientists and research scholars, concluded here today at School of Biotechnology, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J).
The training concluded with presentations by Prof Manoj K Dhar, Director, School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu and Prof V Verma, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, SMVDU, Katra.
Prof D P Abrol, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, SKUAST-Jammu, was the chief guest and Dr V Verma was the guest of honour in the valedictory function. A review of the training programme was presented by Prof R K Salgotra, Course Director and Coordinator School of Biotechnology.
The training programme comprised of expert lectures and hands-on-trainings. Eminent experts from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana; Indian Agricultural Statistical Research Institute, New-Delhi; University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan; Gujrat Agriculture University, Navsari ; DAV University, Jalandhar; IIIM, Jammu; SMVDU, Katra; University of Jammu  and SKUAST-Jammu delivered talks on different aspects of training programme.
Certificates and momentos were awarded to the trainees and organizers on the occasion.                                                Dr Manmohan Sharma, Course Coordinator presented vote of thanks. The proceedings of the training were conducted by Dr Susheel Sharma, course co-coordinator of the training programme.
