SAMBA, Sept 8: The people of Khanpur village today held a protest demonstration in Vijaypur town against the ration shortage.
A large number of people including women held a protest demonstration at TSO office in Vijaypur and raised slogans against CA&PD Department. They were demanding action against ration dealer and immediate distribution of pending ration to locals. They also demanded withdrawal of National Food Security Act.
The protesting people said that CA&PD Department appointed a new ration dealer in the area, who did not supplied ration to the villagers and shifted the depot to another area.
“We are not getting ration for the last four months and no one in the CA&PD Department is paying any heed towards our demands. Despite repeated pleas to concerned officials and local MLA, nothing has been done so far”, the protesters said.
