SRINAGAR, Sept 8: Taking serious note of misappropriation of ration under Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme (MMSFES) in Pulwama, Government today suspended one Assistant Director and two Tehsil Supply Officers (TSOs) besides constituted committee to conduct investigation.
Official spokesman said that following complaints of misappropriation of ration in Pulwama, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali issued directions for immediate suspension of one Assistant Director and two TSOs.
According to the order No.141-FCS&CA dated September 8, 2016 issued by Commissioner/ Secretary to Government, Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Mushtaq Ahmed, Assistant Director Pulwama, Mohammad Amin, Tehsil Supply Officer Awantipora and Ghulam Mohammad Rather, TSO Granary Pulwama have been suspended with immediate effect.
The Department has issued order to Assistant Director, Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Shopian to take over the additional charge of Pulwama till further orders.
Meanwhile, Minister has initiated inquiry into the allegations. A two member committee comprising Director Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Kashmir and Director Finance of Administrative Department has been directed to investigate the ration quota of Pulwama particularly of the months of July, August and September and submit report within 10 days.
“We will not spare anybody found guilty of misappropriation of ration”, the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Ch Zulfkar said, adding “the Government has already warned officials to remain vigilant and provide the ration to the people in most transparent manner”.
He warned the officials against indulging in such practices and said, “such an act will deprive them of Government service”.
