NEW DELHI, Sept 9: Vice-Chairman Khadi and Village Industries Board, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain called on the Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Industries, Kalraj Mishra here today and discussed various issues pertaining to the development of rural entrepreneurship in Jammu and Kashmir.
Peerzada Mansoor sought the Union Minister’s intervention for allocating 22 Khadi Cluster Development units for J&K so that each district in the State could get one such unit. He also sought Central Government’s financial and technical support for setting up Khadi Plazas, with one each in Srinagar and Jammu.
The Vice-Chairman also urged the Union Minister that the applicants from Jammu and Kashmir should be allowed to submit the application forms under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) manually instead of online as there is no internet facility available in most parts of the State for the past two months.
He also sought Union Ministry of MS&ME’s financial support for setting up of Facilitation Centres in each district to create awareness about the entrepreneur schemes available in Khadi and Village Industries sector.
The Union Minister assured, Peerzada Mansoor that his Ministry would take appropriate positive action on the issues raised in the meeting.
