Police Martyrs Memorial Badminton C’ship concludes

UDHAMPUR, Sept 29 : 2nd Range Level Police Martyrs Memorial Badminton Championship concluded at Indoor Badminton Complex Udhampur here today. The tournament was organized by the Udhampur-Reasi Range Police under Civic Action Programme.
Deputy Inspector General of Traffic, Jammu, Shakeel Ahmed Beig was the chief guest on the occasion while Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, P.K Pole was the guest of honour.
DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Jagjit Kumar,  Additional SP, Benam, Staff Officer to DIG, Nasir Ahmed, DySP, Bodh Raj (Nodal Officer), Officers of Youth Services & Sports Department, veteran players, prominent citizens and number of sports lovers were present on the occasion.
On the concluding day, the last match of Men’s Single category was played between Jatinder and Jatin Sethi which was won by Jatin Sethi by defeating his competitor by 2-0.  Besides in Men’s Double category, Sudhir Manhas and Jatin Sethi defeating Sanjay and Jatinder in straight two sets.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG Traffic, Mr Beig exhorted the youth to take part in sports events to modify their behaviour, personality development, health fitness and to explore hidden sports talents among them.
The DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range said that particular sports event was organised in order to pay homage to police martyrs who have scarified their lives while fighting with anti-national and anti-social elements in the State.
