REASI, Sept 14: Army has initiated a mega IT literacy drive in remote Talwara, Bagga, Lam, Kalakote and Seri villages of the district.
The aim of this mega drive is to facilitate and promote e-learning amongst students with an endeavour to create an IT empowered society and strengthen the “Digital India” campaign under ‘Operation Sadhbhavana’.
The computers and various accessories were distributed to many Government schools situated in remote locations last year. The aim of desired instruction and supervision to be imparted to students was not met due to the scarcity of instructional staff in remote area schools.
In order to achieve the desired goals, the Army has initiated an innovative cadre for the Teachers with the theme of ‘Train The Trainer’. The cadre has been conceived with an aim to create a pool of teachers, proficient in IT skills who would in turn train the students by imparting IT education.
A pool of 30 teachers have been trained resulting in 250 students from various schools in the region benefiting from the effort, giving them an avenue of computer education and access to modern tools and knowledge, thus preparing them for the technological changes in future.
