JAMMU, Sept 17: Bhagwan Vishwakarma Jayanti was celebrated today by J&K Labour Awami Movement (JKLAM) at Vishwakarma Temple, Muthi and Indian Oil Corp Limited, Indane Bottling Plant, Bari Brahmana, Samba at its premises.
Rashpal Verma, Vice Chairman, J&K OBC Advisory and Development Board, was the chief guest of the function whereas Shashi Verma, previous president and Charanjeet Chargotra, District president, BSP were the guests of honour. Kuldeep Chalotra, president, JKLAM, presided over the function.
Devotees from all walks of life attended the function. Speakers while addressing the gathering expressed displeasure over non-implementation of various schemes meant for labour class by the State Government.
Kuldeep Chalotra, in his address flayed the State Government for their anti-labour attitude while chief guest assured that he will reach upto the expectation of the labour class.
Deputy Labour Commi-ssioner, CEO and other officials of Labour Department were also present. In the end, a community langar was served to the devotees.
Meanwhile, the Vishwakarma Jayanti was also celebrated at Indian Oil Corp Limited, Indane Bottling Plant, Bari Brahmana, Samba. Sanjay Dabi, Regional Labour Commissioner, J&K, along with Secretary BMS and other delegates took part in Pooja organized on the occasion.
During his address to the contract workers of Jammu BP, Sanjay Dabi gave detailed description on the Government schemes beneficial to the contract labours. The Labour Commissioner also gave away awards to the best performing contract labours of Jammu BP.
