JAMMU, Sept 17: Additional DG NCC (J&K), Maj Gen SS Jakhar reviewed the preparations of State contingent of NCC cadets for participation in National level “Thal Sainik Camp” at NCC Academy Nagrota. The ADG witnessed rehearsals of various competition events which will be held at the camp.
Training of the camp comprises of basic Army activities like map reading, tent pitching, weapon training and firing, field signals, obstacle race and health & hygiene. The J&K contingent comprises of 80 cadets including both boys and girls of senior and junior divisions.
The contingent will take part in the National level inter- directorate competitions held at Delhi from September 19 to September 30, 2016. The Cadets from all State NCC contingents will participate in competitions of the above mentioned training events. The cadets have been selected after a very tough selection process.
While addressing the cadets, Major General Jakhar, Commended them for their enthusiasm and hard work in preparing for the National level competition. He wished the contingent good luck and expressed confidence that they will surely bring laurels to the J&K State. He also appreciated the hard work put in by Brigadier Rajan Jamwal and his team in selecting and preparing the cadets.
