JAMMU, Sept 17: State president of Gujjar Bakerwal Youth Desh, Choudhary Nazakat Khatana urged the Government not to cause any further delay in fixing the  rate of sheep wool this year.
Addressing a press conference today Khatana said the time to return of Bakerwals to their homes was at the peak and the Bakerwals have  prepared and dumped sheep wool in the summer time but the authorities at the helm of affairs have not fixed the rates for purchase of wool.
He said four years ago the Government had fixed the wool rate at Rs 110 per kg, while the rate is to be fixed every year. He added that this year the Government was seemingly in deep slumber and deliberately ignoring the Bakerwal community as their children were deprived of education as mobile schools were not carried out for their education.
Nazakat Khatana said the Government must take into consideration all the issues associated with the Bakerwals and fix immediately the price for sheep wool so that they could march towards their native places as the winter season was approaching fast.
Others in the press conference were Ch Aslam, Ch Rafiq, Sajad Ahmed, Mushtaq Ahmed, Mohd Faisal, Talib Hussain Bajran, Ch Akhter, Ch Javed, Ch Farooq etc.
