UDHAMPUR, Sept 17: To finalize and review the arrangements for upcoming annual pilgrimage of Shri Mata Pingla Devi Ji, a meeting of various social and voluntary organizations was held at village Pinger where members of Akhand Jyoti Committee Ramnagar, Yatra Committee Udhampur, Manwal and Langar Committee Katra and Ramnagar were present.
The meeting was also attended by SDPO Ramnagar Deepak Digra.
During the course of meeting, threadbare discussions were held on various aspects, including provision of drinking water, electricity, road and other related arrangements.
The members raised concern about the deteriorated road to the shrine while few other members raised issue of damaged transformers and non availability of electricity from last two months.
The convenor of Akhand Jyoti Committee Ramnagar was quite critical of previous regimes who did not provide basic amenities at the shrine. He said that it was the work and dedication of voluntary and social organizations that yatra to this holy place was reaching new heights despite various bottlenecks.
The meeting unanimously decided to jointly work on the cause of providing amenities and bring this place on the tourism map of the State so that pilgrims visiting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi may be diverted here too.
SDPO Ramnagar Deepak Digra, who was also present in the meeting, assured to take up the issue with SDM Ramnagar and other agencies for the quick redressal.
The meeting was informed that Jyoti of Mata will be lightened on 1st of October and this will be taken to sanctum sanctorum of Mata Pingla Devi Ji on 2nd Navratra i.e 2nd October 2016.
