JAMMU, Sept 17: Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi is visiting trouble-torn Kashmir valley on a two-day visit from Monday.
Official sources told the Excelsior that Mehrishi will hold high level review of security situation in Kashmir with top officers of civil, police and civil administration apart from Intelligence agencies.
He was also likely to meet political leadership of the State and discuss with them the steps being taken by the Centre Government to assist State in restoration of peace and normalcy in the Valley, which has been shattered for the last about 75 days after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani.
Mehrishi would brief Rajnath Singh on the situation when the latter returns from his nearly week-long tour abroad including Russia. Rajnath will leave for the foreign tour tomorrow.
Rajnath Singh had thrice visited the Valley after the unrest broke out for review of the situation, twice individually and once as head of All Party Delegation to Jammu and Kashmir.
The Centre and the State Governments were taking several measures to restore peace and normalcy in the Valley in coordination with each other.
