Rajouri returning to normalcy

RAJOURI, Sept 17: The troubled border township of Rajouri  is returning to normalcy as the district authorities  today gave five hours relaxation in curfew.
The authorities today gave relaxation in curfew for three hours from 10 am to 1 pm in  Jawahar  Nagar, Khandli,  Chhaprian, Bela Colony,  Kheora and Panja Chowk area on one side of the nallah while two hour relaxation  in old  city area  including main market from 3 pm to 5 pm.   But hardly  five per cent shops were opened during the relaxation period.  There was no untoward incident reported from any part of the town today and city witnessed calm.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Shabir Ahmed Bhat told the Excelsior that today five hour relaxation in curfew was given. Yesterday, it was just for two hours.  He said the  town is showing gradual improvement in the situation and tomorrow, the relation period will be increased for more hours.
When asked whether day curfew  will be lifted on Sunday, the DC said, ” We can not say that day curfew will be lifted tomorrow. A  fresh review of  the situation will be taken in a meeting of  the District officials  being held late this evening.   But it is certain that curfew relaxation period will be increased in the town and may be part wise again,” Mr Bhat maintained.
