JAMMU, Sept 18: Contin-uing with its endeavor to extend health services to journalist fraternity and their wards, Press Club of Jammu (PCJ), in collaboration with Interventional Pain and Spine Centre (IPSC) today organized a free day long chronic pain awareness and treatment camp.
Renowned specialist Dr Pankaj N Surange, who had come all the way from New Delhi on the request made by PCJ management, assisted by Dr Rohit Lahori, examined over 500 patients suffering from various chronic pains and diseases.
While examining the patients in a professional manner, the panel of doctors gave a patient hearing to the sufferers and provided them on the spot treatment besides free medicines.
Earlier, Dr Lahori gave a brief outlay of chronic pains/ diseases diagnosed among the patients due to existing lifestyle.
Patients with Cervical/ lumber spondylytis were diagnosed more during the camp to whom the experts gave tips, medical treatment and its management.
Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat, who was the main guest at the function, hailed the efforts of PCJ management for organizing the camp. He said that due to changed life style and eating habits, there has been an increase in number of cases of various chronic pains.
President PCJ, Ashwani Kumar said that this is the second camp that PCJ has organized for its members. He added that PCJ was committed for better health of its members and staff.
A number of senior journalists and Executive Members of the PCJ were also present on the occasion.
