Exempt ex-servicemen from IT

Sir,
Introduction of One Rank One Pension Scheme and enhancement of the pensionary benefit on attainment of 80 years of age or so to the ex-servicemen, indicate a strong sense of welfarism for the retired military personnel.
But keeping them under the periphery of income tax, appears somewhat illogical: sears of wounds they carried in the theatre of war, guarded borders in difficult geographical conditions,  often remind  us of the war widows and disabled soldiers, whose rest of the life remains in lamentable conditions. When the evenings of their life get darkened by multiple physical disabilities, the amount of pension they get, prove scanty and insufficient in the existing era of price hike. Imposition of income tax on them, is obviously indigestible. To maintain and strengthen the uniqueness of military services, keeping them away from the tax slab, is considered morally and economically justified.
Yours etc….
