KATHUA, Sept 21: The PDD in its raid conducted in various areas of
the town during last two days has seized about 2500 illegal heaters and wires and given a stern warning to the people for misusing electricity.
The raids were conducted by the PDD engineers and other staff under the supervision of Executive Engineer M&RE, Kathua, Mr Sethi. The Department said illegal use of heaters by some consumers was the main cause of increasing load resulting into the often breakdown of transformers.
The Department has decided to submit the names of the defaulters to Chief Engineer, M&RE Jammu for imposition of fine on them. The Department has also given a warning to all such consumers and asked them to refrain from this practice in near future otherwise it will take stern action and also present challans in court of law for violation of rules and norms.
