Sir,
This has reference to the news item ‘Sanctioned 5 years back, TRCs at Sarthaldevi remains distant dream’ Sept 21.
It is quite important that the Government adopts a pragmatic approach to develop religious places in Jammu region. This is due to fact that Jammu is famous for religious tourism. A large number of tourists visit the region, thereby adding to the economy of the State. Besides, local people have faith in these shrines as they are culturally and religiously connected to them. It is essential that their faith is respected by the Government by paying attention to the development of these shrines.
A visitor or a pilgrim would like to visit a place where he is provided boarding and lodging facilities. The Tourism Department should take note of this reality and frame action plan in this manner.
Yours etc….
