KATRA, Sept 22: A meeting of Navratra Festival’s All India Devotional Song Competition Committee (organized by SMVD Shrine Board & J&K Tourism in association with other organizations ) was held here today under its chairman Rakesh Wazir wherein it was briefed that film personalities from Mumbai including Chairman Censor Board Pahlaj Nihlani, Padam Shree Singer Hans Raj Hans, Parvez Dewan, former Advisor to Governor, Chaiman cum Managing Director Venus Records & Tapes Ltd Ganesh Jain, Producer Gordhan Tanwani, Chairman and Managing Director Mh One group Mohinder Batla, CEO Zee Jagaran Barkha Arora and Music Composer Sanjay Vidyarthi have already given their consent to be there in the panel of judges for final of All India Devotional Song competition.
Rakesh Wazir while speaking on the occasion said that this year this would be 19th competition and efforts would be made to increase its horizon and keeping in view the fact in mind, the all over India publicity for auditions and participation will be done through print and electronic media which are going to be held from October 2 to 7 and its registration can be done at Tourist Office Katra personally or through phone on numbers 01991-232005, 233301,02.
Wazir further elaborated that this year the Ist prize would be Rs 3 lakh and recording contract with Venus Records & Tapes Ltd and the pattern of qualifying rounds has been changed a little wherein 2nd & 3rd winners of the preliminary rounds will compete on 8th October i.e. Quarter final. 1st position holders of daily competition will compete with the winners of the Quarter final on Semi final i.e. on October 9 for their entry into Mega Final to be held on October 10, 2016 at Yog Ashram Ground and leaving aside Mega final repetition of devotional song will not be allowed in quarter final/semi final.
In the meeting different committees were formed for the smooth conduct of the competition.
