JAMMU, Sept 23: J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) in collaboration with NABARD organized an awareness programme on the Pradhan Mantri’s Social Security Schemes at village Sarora under the Branch Office Bohri.
RS Billawaria, Area Manager, Jammu who was the chief guest on the occasion spoke at length about the education and housing loans.
Speaking on the occasion, Vipan Gupta, Manager, MF&FI Department, J&K Grameen Bank, informed the participants at length regarding the benefits of social security schemes named (PMJJBY) Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, (PMSBY) Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, (APY) Atal Pension Yojana and Project Young Champions (PYC).
He further informed the gathering that these schemes have been designed to provide security cover to the poor population particularly those working in the unorganized sectors. He advised the people to avail this benefit through nearest Grameen Bank Branch.
He also made people aware of new Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme) in which the premium rates to be paid by the farmers have been brought down substantially so as to enable more farmers avail insurance cover against crop loss on account of natural calamities and thrust is also given on activation of RuPay card.
FLCC Jammu, Mohinder Kumar also spoke about various bank schemes and training being imparted by them. The credit of about Rs 56 lakh was also disbursed during the event for the diversified activities like KCC, Joint Liability Group (JLGs), housing loans, car loans, etc.
Sushma Saini, Mahila President, Marh Block was also present during the event. Representatives of various Line Departments also attended the programme. Besides huge gathering, Panchs and Sarpanchs of the area also attended the said camp.
Similar programmes were also conducted at village Badyal Brahmana Jammu and villages Channi Prat and Devak in Rajouri.
