LEH, Sept 24:  The educational-cum-motivational tour organised under the aegis of Siachen Brigade as part of `Op Sadbhavana’ was flagged off by the Lt Gen PJS Pannu, GoC, 14 Corps at Leh for the children of Nubra Valley to Chandigarh, Delhi and Agra.
The aim of the goodwill project is to integrate local population with the national mainstream.
The 13 days tour comprising 22 members will be visiting cities of Chandigarh, Delhi and Agra. The tour is unique wherein the students and teachers of the remote areas of Nubra Valley are being exposed with the rest to showcase the development and give an insight to the way of life in other parts of the country.
The students will visit places like Chatbir Zoo, Rock Garden and Sukhna Lake at Chandigarh; India Gate, Lotus Temple, Jantar Mantar, Red Fort, Jamia Masjid, National Museum at Delhi and Agra Fort and Taj Mahal in UP.  The tour provides an opportunity to these selected 15 students to get integrated with the country’s vast historical and cultural heritage and at the same time enhance their outlook towards life.
During the flagging off ceremony, GoC interacted with the tour participants who were very excited and thrilled to be part of the ensuing tour. The participants were thankful to Army for providing with such an opportunities which would expose them to the outside world, broaden their horizon and ultimately integrate them with the national mainstream.
