JAMMU, Sept 24: Appealing for a calm and restoration of peace in the State, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader, Abdul Hamid Choudhary today expressed his concern over various infrastructural development schemes which are yet to see light of day due to ongoing unrest in the State.
He said that several tourism related projects and road networks in the State were sanctioned which if completed could have added to socio-economic development of each and every region.
“The unrest in Jammu and Kashmir has not only delayed the construction of strategic roads in the State but Rs 400 crore worth projects sanctioned under Prime Minister’s Development Programme (PMDP) for augmenting infrastructure in tourism sector too are facing uncertainty”, Haimd Choudhary said.
Stating that the unrest has also caused excessive damages to educational institutions which have been gutted or are lying closed for weeks together, he made a fervent appeal to end this unrest and pave a way for holding meaningful dialogue with all to put State back on the wheels of progress.
