KATHUA, Sept 25: Lakha-npur Police arrested one bovine smuggler and rescued 26 bovine animals which he was smuggling to Punjab from a hilly area of Kathua district today.
According to Lakhanpur police it got information from a source that one Mohammad Akhtar, son of Deen Mohammed of Doda is smuggling bovine animals to Punjab through a local road.
The police team from Lakhanpur Police Station swung into action and chased the bovine smuggler. It caught hold of him at Satwain.
Police rescued all the 26 bovine animals and arrested the smuggler. A case under Section 188 RPC was registered against him for illegal transportation of bovine animals.
