Srinagar, Sept 26: High Court today directed the Government to inform it about the selection of Principal GMC Srinagar on regular basis.
The court sought this information in shape of affidavit to be filed by the Government indicating there in the steps taken so for in implementing the judgment.
“Counsel to file affidavit before the next date (which is September 29) indicating there in the steps taken by them for implementing the court judgment”, Division Bench of Justice MH Attar and Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey directed.
The direction was passed after the State counsel, M I Dar (AAG), submitted that meeting of the selection committee has taken place but no decision has been taken as some verification of documents all the candidates for the post is required including that of Dr Javaid Choudhry.
High Court in the month of March had directed the State Government to fill up the post of Principal GMC, Srinagar within eight weeks on regular basis in accordance with the rules. Since the court judgment has not been complied within the prescribed period Dr Choudhry filed the contempt petition against the authorities.
