JAMMU, Sept 27: Speaker Legislative Assembly and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta today visited the veteran BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister, L. K. Advani at New Delhi.
The Speaker discussed several issues related to the development as well as the present security scenario in the State with him.
Gupta briefed him regarding the present situation of Kashmir valley and the measures being taken by the State Government to bring back normalcy in the State.
The Speaker told him that barring few incidents of stone pelting, the situation is almost under control and the youth of the Valley have also understood the mentality of the separatists’ leaders and their ill designs to destabilize the Government.
“These protests and demonstrations are the result of cumulative process and pent-up frustration which crystallizes around a single event and it not only effects the working of the Government but also puts a break on the development of the State in general and the youth in particular”, Gupta said.
The State has suffered a cumulative loss of Rs 10,000 crore in the last three months adding up Rs 120 crore with each passing day. “It is not the State Government who suffers but the real sufferer is the common man related to the tourism, transport and other allied industries”, he explained.
Gupta said, the Government is working with full determination for restoring peace in the Valley and expressed the hope that in coming days, a change for better will be visible in Kashmir as this time it is the common man who has denounced violence and the life has started to come back to normalcy.
South Kashmir’s, Anantnag district which witnessed lot of deaths and destruction in the three month long protests erupting after the killing of Hizubul commander, Burhan Wani is the best example of locals denouncing violence, where youths in thousands participated in the Army’s recruitment rally and came forward for being the part of the main stream, Gupta informed.
Advani assured his cooperation to extend all possible support for the State and wished that the present BJP-PDP Government will succeed in overcoming the situation and return total peace and normalcy in the Valley through Agenda of Alliance by inculcating the spirit of nationalism throughout the length and breadth of the State.
