Curfew relaxed, one more arrested

JAMMU, Sept 27: Authorities today relaxed curfew in Kishtwar town for six hours as normalcy prevailed in all parts even as police made fifth arrest from Tund Hidyal.
Official sources said the district administration initially relaxed curfew in Kishtwar for four hours from 12 noon to 4 pm. However, due to complete normalcy prevailing in the town, authorities extended the relaxation period by another two hours up to 6 pm.
“No untoward incident was reported from any part of Kishtwar town during curfew relaxation,” sources said.
Police last night arrested another person in connection with instigation of youth. He has been identified as Syed Asif alias Yasir son of Bashir Ahmad R/o Astan Bala, presently putting up at Tund Hidyal. He has been booked in case FIR No. 174/2016 under Sections 153 A, 120-B and 124-A RPC at Kishtwar police station.
Four persons including Hurriyat Conference leaders and separatists have already been arrested by police for provoking the youth to take to protests in support of Kashmir unrest.
Curfew was imposed in Kishtwar in wee hours of Sunday following protests by the people after police arrested the separatists.
Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan, SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir and Additional SP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom were monitoring the situation. Army has been kept stand-by while CRPF and police were patrolling the town.
