CB books fraudster

JAMMU, Sept 30: Crime Branch Jammu has booked a fraudster, who had cheated people on the name of sending them abroad.
According to the FIR, a written complaint lodged by Rahul Kumar, son of Baldev Raj of Kalyanpur along with 10 others, duly forwarded by Sub Judge Special Mobile Magistrate, Jammu, was received in Crime Branch.
In the complaint, it was mentioned that they being unemployed were in search of some work and they came across an advertisement regarding work permit for Australia, Canada etc. Upon this, they contacted one Rajinder Singh, son of Kartar Singh of Samrai, Jalandar (Punjab), with office address as H. No. 56/C Sector 5-A Trikuta Nagar, Jammu through the telephone number given in the advertisement notice.
Rajinder Singh asked them to visit his office at Trikuta Nagar and meet his authorized person namely Rozy where it was agreed between the accused and the complainants that an amount of Rs 1.50 lakh shall be charged per person which shall include documentation also and consequently the medical examination of the complainants was conducted.
Thereafter their passports, photographs, voter Id cards, PAN Cards etc and an advance payment of Rs 65,000 each was also taken by the accused Rajinder Singh against proper receipt and the complainants were informed that they should come to Delhi for the interview but when the complainants reached Delhi  in the office situated at Nehru Palace they were shocked to hear that the receipts issued by the accused were fake and fabricated.
During the course of verification by the Crime Branch it was established that accused Rajinder Singh with the criminal intention had cheated and duped the complainants of their hard earned money amounting to Rs 7,86,500 on the pretext of providing them work permit abroad.
The omissions and commissions, therefore, on the part of Rajinder Singh, prima facie, constitute offences punishable under Sections 420, 406, 465, 466, 467, 468 RPC.
