JAMMU, Oct 1: The newly elected body of Tirath Raj Kapal Mochan Shrine and Temples held in a meeting of displaced Pandits from Shopian district under the chairmanship of its president V S Lahori at Geeta Bhawan, Muthi near here today to take the stock of the present condition of shrines and temples in the district.
As per a release, the meeting said that utmost attention will be paid to Ram temple Shopian commonly known as Thakur Dawara which is in a dilapidated condition and also facing the threat from encroachers.
The meeting was apprised that the matter was taken up with Deputy Commissioner Shopian also and it was decided to go ahead with the on going renovation programme of the temples and shrines. The funds for the same will also be mobilized by the members.
