PERTH: India prevailed over the Tassie Tigers 3-2 to record their third victory in the AHL here today.
For India it was Armaan Qureshi’s who scored their first goal in the 10th minute, but in the 12th minute, the Tigers came back strongly and equalised a goal through James Dick. However, it was Varun Kumar, who scored a goal through PC in the 13th minute putting the visitors back into lead.
The second quarter saw both teams PC attempts, but some stout defending denied either team a lead. The teams headed into halftime separated by the single goal, India leading 2-1. In the second half, India in the lead, were content with passing the ball around neatly in their ranks, and soaked up the pressure from the Tigers going into the final break with the lead.
Meanwhile, Tigers equalised in the 50th minute via a William Shaw through PC. However, Qureshi fired a goal in the 54th minute putting India back into lead and winning the game 3-2.
India will take on Western Australia Thundersticks in their next Pool B encounter on October 5. (AGENCIES)
