Mob turns violent after stabbing, damage vehicles

POONCH, Oct 1: The mob of youth turned violent after stabbing incident at Boys Higher Secondary School, Poonch and damaged about half and dozen vehicles in the city here today.
The incident took place after some boys from one community stabbed a youth of another community near Govt Higher Secondary School, Poonch today. During clash three boys namely Mushtaq Ahmed, Sajid Yaqoob and Maqsood Ahmed were injured.
Reports said these youth had earlier beaten up one Marshal, son of Satnam Singh and his friend, three days back near the school over a minor issue. Taking revenge, the boys from other group attacked Mushtaq and his friends. The boys used sharp edged weapons during the clash. Mushtaq and his two friends were injured and later shifted to hospital.
After this incident, youth from one community took out protest march in the city. During protest march some boys turned violent. They damaged a Tavera, a Tata Sumo, 407 vehicles besides a motor-cycle. They also caused damage to the two local shops. Then they reached bus stand and resorted to pelting stone on some private vehicles. The drivers took out rods and lathis. The police also intervened and the boys dispersed.
SP Poonch later called a meeting of members from all the communities and issued appeal to maintain communal harmony. He said that action under law will be taken against the accused persons and nobody will be allowed to take law in own hands.
